Privacy and terms
Short, because the practice is simple: your project is yours, it is used only to produce your report, and it is deleted on a schedule.
Privacy
What is collected
Your name, email address and a password hash when you create an account. The project archive you upload and everything derived from it: parsed structure, simulated reviews, the plan, and any revised project produced for you. Server logs with request times and errors.
How it is used
Uploads are used only to produce the report and revision you asked for. Parts of your project are sent to the language model provider configured for this deployment in order to write the reviews and the edits, under that provider's API terms, which exclude training on API inputs. Reference verification sends proposed titles to Crossref and OpenAlex. Nothing you upload is used to train a model, sold, or shown to anyone without your share link.
Retention
Uploads, reports and revised projects are deleted 14 days after the run. Account records are kept until you ask for them to be removed.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. The card form on the pay page is served by Stripe and the card details go to Stripe directly; PanelSim receives a confirmation that the payment succeeded and stores its identifier, the card brand and the last four digits next to your report.
Cookies
Two cookies, both first party: one that identifies your browser so a run can resume, and one that keeps you signed in. No analytics or advertising cookies.
Terms
The service
PanelSim produces a simulated review and a proposed revision of a document you upload. The simulation is a model of a venue's reviewing process, not a prediction of any real panel's decision, and no outcome at any venue is promised or implied.
Your content
You keep every right to what you upload and to what is produced from it. You are responsible for having the right to upload it and for checking every passage, number and reference the revision stage proposes before you use it. Generated text and code are drafts for your judgement.
Payments and refunds
Each report and each revision purchase is a separate payment at the price shown on the pay page, made after your paper is parsed and the venue and panel are shown, and before the reviews run. If a run fails before producing its output, the charge is refunded on request.
Acceptable use
Do not upload material you are not allowed to share, and do not use the service to review submissions you are refereeing for a venue, since that would breach the venue's confidentiality rules.
Liability
The service is provided as is. PanelSim is not liable for decisions made on the basis of a report, and its total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the run concerned.
